"Justice hurried is justice buried"
If "Justice delayed is justice denied" then what is "Justice hurried"?
Yes, it's a bizarre query?
For me "Justice hurried is justice buried" yes, it's bitter true hiding behind the huge noise of people who always demands fast track courts and quick trials of accuses. In this hurry, they're not even concerned about the lives which are going to hang and swing with the rope. Yes, I do believe that every citizen has the right to demand justice and seek justice on a timely basis but in this hurry, the judicial system can't just prove someone as guilty and execute the trials just to satisfy people's anguish.
Yes, we are facing problems in clearing the cases on a timely basis, the reason is just simple as we are the largest demographic country in the world, it's not a surprise to record more crimes, stating this I'm not justifying crimes but the amount of crimes which occurs in India is more than any other nation. Even a 3rd graded proven criminal has the right to seek pardon from the Honorable PRESIDENT in our constitution. This is called the Judicial power of the PRESIDENT, according to Article 72 of the Indian Constitution. In this matter, I even trust that the accused can use this right to enhance his life span. But at the same time, we can't snatch his basic right, it's again an injustice.
I would just try to narrate a recent heinous incident held in Hyderabad city in India. A young veterinary doctor named DISHA (Name given by police to protect victim Identity) who was going back home met with a disastrous incident. And she was raped and burnt alive by four men. After this incident, a suo moto case was filed by Cybrabad Police Station and The police arrested four men based on the evidence gathered from CCTV cameras and from the victim's mobile phone. The accused were taken into judicial custody at Cherlapally Central Jail for fourteen days. The Chief Minister of Telangana ordered the formation of a fast-track court to try the accused for their alleged crimes. The rape and murder elicited outrage in several parts of the country. Protests and public demonstrations against rape were organized nationwide after the incident, with the public demanding stricter laws against rape and rapists. The Minister of Home Affairs criticized the Telangana Police and stated that the government intended to amend the Indian Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure to introduce laws for quicker punishment by fast-track courts.
Whereas now incident drags your deep attention, all those accused were taken to crime spot verification and when they tried escaping from the spot police shot them and encountered all of them. So, obviously, people celebrated and enjoyed this incident and expressed their solidarity in different ways some were through posting on Social media and some were distributing sweets. But do we really think justice is served?
However, thereafter as usual NHRC(National Human Rights Commission) intervened in this matter. And they took a suo moto cognizance and came to the spot with a team and started their investigation but so far matter is unclear.
So, after all these, the matters of concern are Why should NHRC intervene? and Why should that Police Commissioner go under Extra-Judicial Killing charges of four accused and appeared in Honorable Supreme Court? Because it was still an unproven mistery and all those accused were mishandled by police.
Yes, as a common man, I do believe that Justice is served but as a bureaucratic sight, some myths were buried with those accused in a hurry of providing justice.
So,"Justice Hurried is Justice Burried".
